Every month, the Westmoreland County Food Bank recognizes an individual or group who went above and beyond in the fight against hunger. Whether it is repacking product in our warehouse, handing out food at an Operation Fresh Express or helping around the Delmont office, we couldn't do it without these individuals and groups.

Volunteer(s) of the Month: Kelsey Shaffer
Westmoreland County Food Bank recognizes Kelsey Shaffer from Clelian Heights School as the Volunteer of the Month. She is an extremely hard worker and is up for any challenge. Her work ethic and skills have continued to improve each day she has come to the food bank according to her teacher.
As you all know, Thanksgiving is around the corner and it would be a sad situation to have a family without food to share with each other on that very special day. We at the food bank appreciate all the work done by you, Kelsey, as well as, all the volunteers from Clelian Heights, who work so diligently to help us process the food necessary to feed those in need. I wish I could say that we have conquered the hunger issue here at home, but, in fact, the need is growing day by day, due to hard economic times, where people are losing their jobs and struggle to put food on the table. We depend on volunteers like you to help us with this cause.
Kelsey, you are a fine representative of Clelian Heights School and what they stand for.
